Dr Sivaprasad is a senior interventional gastroenterologist and hepatologist, with more than 12 years’ experience in this field. He had extensive exposure to all spectrum of clinical cases as part of DM training from the prestigious Government Medical College, Kozhikode and advanced endoscopy fellowships in ERCP and EUS. Dr Sivaprasad also achieved the coveted SCE in Gastroenterology from the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2015. He is also an ASGE member (American society of gastrointestinal endoscopy) and Member of Royal College of Physicians, London since 2012.
Prior to pursuing DM in Gastroenterology, Dr Sivaprasad was working as an Asst. Professor after undergoing post-graduation in Internal Medicine from the reputed JIPMER, Pondicherry, an Institute of national importance in India.
Dr Siva is passionate about medical education and has given numerous lectures spanning various gastrointestinal topics in many medical forums in Muscat, including Sultan Qaboos University. He is on the editorial board of The Canadian journal of clinical nutrition and has multiple peer reviewed publications in national and international journals. He is a peer reviewer for the IJPND journal. During his residency training, he had done dissertations on irritable bowel syndrome and Hepatocellular cancer.
Having trained in high volume centres and with more than 7 years’ experience as a gastroenterologist in Oman, Dr Siva undertakes painless gastroscopies and colonoscopies, polypectomies, treatment of esophageal and gastric varices, stent placements and dilatation, bariatric procedures like intragastric balloon placement, PEG insertion, and many more advanced endoscopic procedures. His other areas of expertise include management of pancreatic and liver diseases with special interest in the diagnosis and management of GERD, peptic ulcer disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, IBS, IBD, endoscopic and medical treatment of obesity, fatty liver - steatohepatitis, cirrhosis, and surveillance for GI cancers like colorectal malignancies etc.
